Cambridge Archive Editions Online Has Launched

For Immediate Release

Minneapolis, MN, USA. September 11, 2014—East View Information Services and Cambridge University Press are proud to announce the launch of Cambridge Archive Editions Online.

Over the past six months since the agreement was signed between Cambridge University Press and East View Information Services, over 1,000 volumes, nearly 600,000 pages and nearly 1,000 maps have been scanned and loaded onto the East View e-book platform. The product is immediately available for trials and for purchase.

The collection has been arranged by geography covering the Near and Middle East, Slavic and Balkan regions, and East and South East Asia. Additional geographic breakdowns within the Near and Middle East collection enable a research institution to focus on a particular country’s content, such as Syria or Qatar. Topical filters have been added to enable researchers to see content that touches subject matter across geography, such as Arab Nationalism or Boundary Disputes and Border Mapping.

Chris Bennett, Global Sales Director for Cambridge University Press said, “The production done so far under this successful partnership has brought Cambridge Archive Editions alive, deservedly, as the destination for discovery of the original sources key to many current events in the regions covered. We’re pleased with the results and look forward to taking the project further still.”

Kent D Lee, East View's founder and CEO, said, “East View has built many online products from original print source material and we always make further enhancements to the product post-launch. For instance, the mapping content that comes along with Cambridge Archive Editions Online will be enhanced in the future so that researchers can use the historic maps alongside current mapping data. Additionally, over the next few months, we anticipate hearing from researchers’ ways to enhance both the content and the platform, which we will be pleased to implement."
