For Immediate Release
Minneapolis, MN, USA. March 12, 2014—East View Information Services and Cambridge University Press have
entered into a relationship to build, market and sell Cambridge Archive Editions content online.
Under the agreement, East View will create and host the entire online version of the Cambridge Archive Editions collection,
including all the original print volumes and accompanying maps, on its "Universal Database" e-book platform and provide
customer service support.
The Cambridge Archive Editions Database will launch in the Summer of 2014. It will be marketed and sold jointly by East View
Information Services and Cambridge University Press.
Cambridge Archive Editions, an imprint of Cambridge University Press, is a publisher of primary source research collections
covering the Near and Middle East, Slavic and Balkan regions, and East and South East Asia.
Facsimile document collections are researched from files available from the National Archives of the UK as well as in the
public domain, and are described on a document-by-document basis. East View will make this cataloging fully searchable, ensuring
that historical reference materials which otherwise would remain unknown, difficult to access, or fragmentary, are available to
libraries and scholars.
"For many years Cambridge Archive Editions has produced publications documenting the national heritage and political development
of many countries. Their work is unsurpassed in quality and integrity," said Kent D. Lee, East View's founder and CEO. "East View
is proud to have been selected as a partner for their new online editions."
Chris Bennett, Global Sales Director for Cambridge University Press said "Our partnership with East View is a great opportunity to
make Cambridge Archive Editions accessible online to educational institutions worldwide. By coupling this bespoke digital platform
with our global reach, we will be able to offer today's researchers instant access to the trusted source material that they need,
all in one searchable database."
"This is a great opportunity to expand the reach of Cambridge Archive Editions to a new, wider audience and harness the potential
of digital platforms. Our partnership with East View will help us to achieve this," said Peter Phillips, Chief Executive of
Cambridge University Press.
