China Social Science Journals (UDB-CSSJ)

Published by the prestigious Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP, 社会科学文献出版社), a branch of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Social Science Journals (UDB-CSSJ) comprises a collection of quality Chinese-language academic journals, offering a valuable resource for scholars and researchers engaged in social science research. This digital repository encompasses a wide spectrum of disciplines within the social sciences, including but not limited to: History, Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, Linguistics, Urban Planning, and Environmental Studies.

CSSJ is the only database composed solely of non-aggregated SSAP journals. These journals boast SSAP’s high editorial quality and content relevancy. Covering the past 20 years, CSSJ includes current year content without publication delay or embargo. While a handful of titles were ceased after a few issues, others include over 40 issues. CSSJ represents a significant contribution to the internationalization of social science research, fostering a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of Chinese academic thought and its implications for global scholarship.

China Social Science Journals, alongside China Social Science Monographs (EB-CSSM), represents a new frontier in direct access to original Chinese-language resources available to North America and stored on North American servers. These new collections build on East View’s past partnership with SSAP to aggregate and host pishu through East View’s China Economy, Public Policy, and Security Database (EB-PISHU).
